Finestra Gallery has some great new ideas for Mothers Day this March, ceramics by Emma Louise Wilson, Jamali Annay, Joan Bideau and glass by Jo Downs among others.
Finestra Gallery artist William H Jones has just opened his studio as a new gallery at Dairy Cottage Kirkby Lonsdale. The gallery exclusively displays his own work, and has many new oil paintings not seen on the Finestra Gallery website. The new gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10.00am to 5.00pm at Dairy Cottage, Fellside Farm, Kirkby Lonsdale, LA6 2EH
William H JonesThere are many new original oil paintings by William H Jones to be seen in the gallery at the moment. William has painted most of them on site in the vicinity of Arnside and Silverdale and they include seascapes and coastal scenes. They are hanging alongside scenes of the Cornish coast. These were also painted in situ, on one of Williams recent painting trips to St Ives. He painted them in summery tones and colours and they are presented in attractive modern white square frames.
Local ScenesWilliam has also given us some of his oil paintings of the Kirkby Lonsdale area in various sizes and frames. These include one intriguing evening view over the rooftops of the town with St Marys Church in the distance.
Original Paintings Reduced.
In our Mayday Sale we have 10% off all our original Rozanne Bell paintings. Also all of our Allan Morgan original acrylic paintings are reduced by 10%. Just go to ORIGINAL PAINTINGS in the list under SHOP.
Happy New Year to all our customers and friends. We have a small exhibition of William H Jones work in the gallery at the moment, with twenty paintings and charcoal drawings. There is also a range of his prints available many of which are scenes local to Kirkby Lonsdale and the surrounding area. Kirkby Lonsdale was featured heavily in the Great British High Street competition before Christmas. If you have never been, it is a great place for a day out, we are open every day so don’t forget to come and see us!
We love autumn here at Finestra. Its that time of year where the leaves are turning amber and beginning to fall. For that nip in the air we have lots of lovely new scarves to keep warm and cosy, together with a selection of handmade and locally designed mugs for that much needed cup of hot chocolate!
Know someone who likes a drink? Here at Finestra Gallery we now have a range of Darach furniture and whisky glass sets. Craftsmen make them by hand in Scotland from reclaimed oak whisky barrels. All the pieces are from Inverness and are made from curved oak planks. It is this curve which gives the pieces their unique design. The oak has one black side which was made when the inside of the barrels were fired. This gives the pieces a very contemporary colour combination of polished oak and black. Whisky lovers Customers can buy benches, tables and even a hat stand. The glasses are the same as the ones used in the distilleries to sample the whisky and some sets include a glass water jug. We think all these items would definitely make great gifts for whisky lovers.
We now have several new original oil paintings by popular local artist Libby Edmondson in the gallery, many of which are large square images of subjects from Devon to the Highlands of Scotland. Libby was featured in a BBC TV programme last year called Glorious Gardens from Above, in which she painted a picture of the gardens at Levens Hall near where she lives, a subject she has painted many times but not in front of the TV cameras! We also have a range of her framed limited edition prints of local views many of which are of the Lake District.
It’s all about Mum here in the Gallery. We have a fantastic range of Mother’s day cards perfect for every taste. Let Mum know how much she means to you by getting her a beautiful handmade gift, all at reasonable prices, from ceramic hearts from Jamali Annay to glassware from Jo Downs. Don’t forget the date Sunday 6th March!
